Trigrad Caves and the Devils Throat!
Before
entering the Trigrad Gorge, the Trigradska River falls into the
Dyavolskoto Gurlo (Devil’s Throat) - a fantastic cave,
where, along the following 7000 metres, the water forms some 18
waterfalls and passing through the enormous Roaring Hall exits
into the canyon. This miracle of nature is electrified and can be
seen with your very own eyes.
Traces
of pre-historical life have been found in many caves all over
Bulgaria. Some of the caves in Trigrad region are with
pre-historical life (4300 BC). The beauty of the numerous
stalagmites, stalactites, dentrites, and water pools make the
Trigrad caves a favourite spot for many tourists.

Bachkovo Monastery
The second largest Bulgarian monastery, the Bachkovo cloister, lies in the valley of the Chepelare river (also known by the locals as Chaya). On all sides, the monastery is surrounded by the hills of the Rhodopi mountain, which together with its size and ancient spirit make is one of the most visited monasteries in Bulgaria.
Dozens of small shops, stalls, and restaurants stand on both sides of the walkway to the gates and appeal with their variety to visitors. One can find here everything that grows or is being manufactured in the Rhodopi mountain – rare herbs, home-made jams of wild fruit, yogurt and white cheese made of sheep or buffalo’s milk, woollen carpets.
